Keshi Pearl and Silver Moon Handmade Drop Earrings.
The Moonchild Pearl Drop Earrings are part of our made to order collection. These unique imperfections make each pair of earrings an unrepeatable treasure.

Please note that the earrings pictured here is an example and your earrings will be made specially for you when you place your order.

Keshi Pearls FAQs
What is the difference between a cultured and farmed pearl?
Cultured pearls and farmed pearls both refer to pearls that have been farmed. Cultured and farmed pearls are made from the same material are wild pearls, but have been grown in pearl farms.
Are cultured pearls real?
Yes. Cultured pearls are made from the same material as wild pearls and are considered to be real. The only difference is that wild pearls form around the body of a parasite, and cultured pearls form around a shell bead from another pearl.
What are keshi pearls?
Keshi pearls are wild pearls that started life within a cultured shell. As they are found in pearl farms, they cannot legally be described as wild, but because they do not form around the inserted nuclei bead, they have a wild, irregular, and organic shape.
Are keshi pearls real?
Yes - keshi pearls are real pearls, but they differ from other cultured pearls because they lack a bead nuclei and are made entirely from nacre (also known as Mother of Pearl).
What are keshi pearls made from?
Keshi pearls do not contain a bead nuclei and are made entirely of nacre, which produces their iridescent glow and shine. As they do not contain a bead nucleus, keshi pearls are lighter than cultured baroque pearls.
What colour are keshi pearls?
Keshi pearls are typically white or cream, but can be other colours such as pink or beige.
Are keshi pearls freshwater or saltwater?
Keshi pearls can be freshwater or saltwater.
Are keshi pearls valuable?
Pearls are judged on four standards: size, colour, orient, and shape.
Although perfectly round pearls are the most valuable and baroque pearls the least valuable, Keshi pearls are prized for their orient and rarity.
A pearl’s orient refers to how well they shimmer and reflect light, and is usually dependent on how many layers of nacre there are. Keshi pearls are made of 100% nacre, which means they have excellent orient and high lustre.
Keshi pearls are also prized for their rarity, as they are created as a byproduct of the pearl culturing process.
