Fairy Raincloud Earrings - One of a Kind

The Fairy Raincloud earrings are a pair of one of a kind drop earrings representing dreams, imagination, and intuition.

In Celtic and European folklore, fairies represent the boundary between human consciousness and the spirit realm - the thin line between what we imagine and what we make real. Women have always lived on this boundary. We are makers in the most profound sense - of life, of art, of nourishment, of beauty, of worlds that exist first in the imagination and then in the hands. The fairy stands between what is dreamed and what is real, just like women.

In these earrings, the lilac keshi pearl rainclouds represent a sky of endless possibility. A play on words of the two phrases 'having your head in the clouds' and 'being away with the fairies', the silver fairies celebrate the woman who has cultivated her ability to dream and imagine new ways of being. Baroque rice pearls hang like morning dew on silver branches, swaying in the breeze, the fairies dancing in the wind, almost like they are alive with magic.

Method: These one of a kind sterling silver earrings were handmade in England using the ancient art of lost wax casting, which has infused the silver cloud settings and fairies with a molten metal texture . These unique imperfections make it an unrepeatable treasure. After the cloud settings were cast, space was burred out to set the the keshi pearls, and the rice pearls and fairies were strung onto the loops.

Materials: Sterling silver, x2 lilac keshi pearls, x8 white baroque rice pearls. One earring weighs 6.6g and the other weighs 6.9g.

Earring Type: These earrings are stud earrings with sterling silver earring posts and butterfly backs. 

Hallmarking: These earrings do not meet the UK threshold for hallmarking, which states that sterling silver jewellery weighing over 7.7g must be hallmarked, so remain un-hallmarked.
